Meet Your 2011-12 District Governor-Elect
Dear Fellow District Optimists,
Thank you for your confidence in electing me as your District Governor for 2012-13. I look forward to helping Governor Tim with his year as I prepare for the next year.
My primary role is to act as the eyes and ears of the District so that I can prepare for a successful year. One of my key goals is to build a dynamic team that can continue the work of Past Governor Tim and Governor Ted as we meet the challenges of serving the needs of our communities. If you are interested in serving next year, either as a committee chair, an activity corrdinator, or on a specific team, please contact your Zone Lieutenant Governor or attend a District Quarterly Conference in a location near you.
The future of Optimist International is very important and we need to look 'outside the box' for solutions that will help us grow. I encourage everyone to take the time to participate in the ongoing discussions, and make your views and suggestions known on our District OptiNews Blog or our District Facebook Page.

Biography
Why did you become an Optimist? I enjoy helping children and hope that I can make a difference in their lives.
Gov-Elect Nick has been an optimist all his life. He joined the Prince Albert High Noon Optimist Club in 1999. He has served as Club President in 2001-02 and 2007-08, and as Honour Club Treasurer in 2004-05. Gov-Elect Nick served as Lieutenant Governor for Zone 7 in 2002-03 and served as District Supplies Chair for three consecutive years during 2006-09.
Why do you continue to serve as an Optimist? I enjoy making a difference in a Childs life. Without us (OI Club Members) there would not be anyone out there that are "Optimists" helping Children.
