Optimist Patti Welling
Born and raised in Saint John, New Brunswick, Patti Welling has been a member of the Optimist Club of St. Albert since February, 1995. Patti served on various committees until she took on the role of Club President in 2001-02; attaining Distinguished status. Under Patti's leadership, her club built the District's first Alpha Club.
In 2002-03, Patti served as Honor Lieutenant Governor and in 2003-04 served as OI Supplies Chair for the District. Having served as club secretary for the past 3 years, Patti looks forward to the challenges ahead as District Secretary-Treasurer.
In her personal life, Patti has been married to Gordon for 13 1/2 years. She is the mother of five children: Jennifer, Ryan, Heidi, Alexander and Laura; ranging in ages from to 30 to 10 years old. Patti works diligently in the St. ALbert community, volunteering her time for parent committees for the various activities that her younger children participate in.
In her professional life, Patti has been a RN since January, 1988. She has been a labor and delivery room nurse for 20 years before transferring to the high risk antepartum unit in April 2008.
