How to Contribute to our Web Services
So you want to be a contributing author
We welcome any contribution to our websites. We have three types of submissions that you can provide:
- Changes to District Website: email or contact our Web Services Chair with the information that you would like changed or added to the District website; or
- OptiNews Submission: a news or announcement article is a short anouncement of an upcoming activity or a short informative article. Email or contact our Web Services Chair to become and contributing author on our District OptiNews Blog.
- Community Contribution: on our District Facebook page. Become a Facebook user, "Like" our Facebook page, and then submit a link, announcement or photo collection.
We ask that you observe some simple rules and guidelines:
- You can write in the first person or third person (your choice). We are looking for informative and fun news articles 100 to 500 words in length (or longer if you feel so inclined). Check out News for examples of content ideas.
- Please observe our Privacy Policy and Copyright Notice, and ensure you collect the information necessary to list the source on our Credits page.
- Be sure that you are accurate if you quote someone.
- Always ensure that you have permission to use graphics if they are not yours.
- If you use photographs, ensure that anyone who is in the picture has agreed to using the photo in an article on our website.
- If you provide a quote from someone, or a photograph of one or more people, then please include the contact information (email addresses and phone numbers) so we can ask for permission to publish the content to our website.
